As a leading figure in the still beverage sector, Schweppes Zimbabwe Limited (SZL) manufactures and distributes a diverse range of still non-carbonated beverages under license from The Coca-Cola Company. This range includes fruit juices, cordials and bottled water.
With two manufacturing plants in Harare and Bulawayo and ten distribution centres countrywide, SZL serves a wide variety of clientele across the country.
Accurate data collection and tracking of customer history is crucial to ensure the adequate fulfilment of customer orders and cold drink equipment (CDE). The SZL sales teams were collecting this information manually, which proved to be highly ineffective. In addition to this, the company also struggled to meet the strict demands which accompany Coca-Cola’s Retail Execution Daily (RED) surveys.
SZL first approached Macmobile to find a solution to this problem and after providing that and more, our services evolved to include managing the entire sales and marketing operations for the company.
Macmobile solved the issue of manual customer history and order tracking by providing a sales force automation tool, which eliminated the issue of inaccurate data collection and the resultant problems which arose.
Using Macmobile’s sales force automation tools, SZL was able to insource its self-assessments and audits. This saved the company a significant amount of money as the capture rate and acquisition of actionable insights sped up.
In addition to this, the four RED surveys had traditionally been conducted using external third parties. This practice significantly increased the company’s expenditure but through Macmobile’s FIELDForce which facilitates the development, deployment and reporting of these four surveys was soon brought in-house. This allowed SZL to further scale their survey reach and conduct scheduled surveys across all outlets with ad hoc checks allowing for instant actionable insight.
